Tabitha Jean Naylor : Best Social Media Tools for 2017

One of my favorite social media engagement tools is Hootsuite, which is a fantastic platform that drives a lot of my social media campaigns. It helps me to generate leads through social media, create social profiles, share valuable content with my followers, and it also analyzes the level of my social media engagement.

Another go-to social media tools I use a lot is SocialOomph, which has some overlap with Hootsuite, but there’s a few key differences. For example, unlike Hootsuite, SocialOomph lets you use a Word document for bulk uploads, which is convenient as most of my content is in Word. Another cool feature with SocialOomph is it lets me know when someone retweets one of my posts, so I can continue to develop  my relationships with clients and influencers. I find that using both Hootsuite and SocialOomph allows me to cover most of my social media marketing bases.

And the reason I say “most” is that I also incorporate Crowdbooster into my tool-box, because it focuses heavily on analytics. Crowdbooster is all about real-time reports and performance metrics that are displayed however you like: graphs, charts, tables, you name it and the platform can make it for you. It really helps me identify the weaknesses in my social media marketing strategy, as well as the areas where I’m doing really well. It also gives me insight into who is engaging most with my social media posts, which helps me refine my content to reach a bigger audience.

And last but not least, BuzzSumo is one of the key tools I use to develop my relationship with influencers in my industry, and to discover what topics, keywords and phrases are trending in my industry that I need to be aware of so that my content remains relevant and timely. It also shows me what content has already been written on a particular subject so that I can better distinguish my content to fill an underserved niche.

Spread The Love: 2 Quick Tips You Can Embrace TODAY That Demonstrate Just How Much You Value Your Customers- Tabitha Naylor

2 Quick Tips You Can Embrace TODAY That Demonstrate Just How Much You Value Your Customers

A great way to make your customers feel good about your company is to offer freebies. Existing customers sometimes feel neglected, because they know that a lot of companies spend more time attracting new customers rather than servicing and maintaining the ones they already have. Avoid falling into that trap by reaching out to your existing clients and offering them discounts, two-for-one packages and even free 30-day trials on new products and services. By constantly engaging your customers, you make them feel wanted and appreciated, and they won’t be tempted to bolt to another company.

Another way to connect with your customer is to  your company and make it feel as if it’s part of the customer’s family. Most eCommerce sites have an “About Us” page that explains company culture and vision, but I think it’s worth the effort to go a step further and create short videos that show how the company works, so that customers feel as if they are part of the business. Peeling back the curtain of what a company does on a daily basis can help create a greater sense of comfort and familiarity that can enhance the customer experience.

Tabitha Jean Naylor Clearwater : Why a One-Star Review Might Be Your Greatest Asset

I’ve worked a number of jobs in my life. I’ve been a consultant, a freelance writer, and a pizza delivery driver among other things, and one thing that’s been instilled in me by every position I’ve held is the importance of customer service. The owner of the restaurant I worked at was OBSESSED – to the point of checking the site hourly for new reviews and punishing/rewarding workers based on customer feedback – with Yelp. Every time a negative review came in, she would dive headfirst into the customer’s issue, attempting to determine who or what caused the bad experience, and formulating a plan to remedy it. Reputation meant everything to this owner, and she did everything in her power to craft a good one. You’d be wise to do the same.

The unfortunate fact of business is that no matter which industry you’re in, you’re going to run into a customer who is nearly impossible to please. They’ll find flaws in your product, criticize your quality of service, or mock your professionalism, and oftentimes they do so unfairly. To 99% of people, their gripes will seem entirely ludicrous, but to 1% their negative review – on Yelp, your website, Angie’s List, etc. – will be enough to dissuade a potential customer from doing business with you. That’s not a good thing, but with a great customer service team, you can turn these bad reviews to your advantage.

One company that does a remarkably good job of this is EatSmart. They’re one of Amazon.com’s consistent top-sellers in its “Home & Personal Care” section, raking in millions of dollars each year with their line of digital scales. They tend to get incredibly positive feedback from customers, but it’s the negative responses they receive that they expertly use to better their company image.

One of the reviews you’ll see on their most popular bathroom scale listing serves as a testament to their commitment to impeccable customer service. It’s titled “Unprecedented Upstanding Business Practice (and products),” and starts by stating, “I am changing my product review from one star to five.”

In the review, the customer acknowledges that she initially gave the scale a one star rating, voicing her displeasure after it stopped working less than two months after purchasing it. She was understandably upset with its malfunction, but her experience took a turn for the better “less than 24 hours” after reviewing the product. Upon leaving the review, she was called and emailed personally by the company’s vice president, who earnestly apologized for the faulty device. The reviewer was shocked by this personal outreach, and even more so when she received a brand new scale in the mail less than a week after leaving her review.

It’s easy to see why she was so willing to change her review to five stars, and even easier to understand how important it is for you to adopt this same attitude towards customer service as EatSmart’s vice president. By going above and beyond for this customer, he not only made her happy, but also earned his company a valuable boost in the consumer trust department. Now when potential buyers visit this Amazon listing, they see firsthand that EatSmart is a vendor that takes its customers seriously, and will do whatever it takes to ensure their satisfaction. That’s an incredibly powerful message, and one that is sure to curry favor for them for a long time to come.

Tabitha Jean Naylor : 3 Free Tools To Save Time On Social Media

Having a presence on social media is an absolute must. There is no question about it. It doesn’t matter if you are in wholesale, retail, B2C or B2B, if you are not interacting with your audience through one or more channels of social media, you are being left behind.

The problem with staying active on social media is that it can become its own full time job, even if you’re only active on one of the many popular platforms. Interacting with customers and leads is one part of it, but then you’ve also got things like creating new content to keep your current audience engaged, and working to keep your audience growing.

\Social Media

You are, however, in luck! I’m going to show you a few useful ways that you can cut down a good deal of the work involved with maintaining a social media presence. Best of all, none of it will cost you a dime.

Use A Scheduler Like Buffer

Buffer is a social media scheduling tool. It will allow you to schedule posts to social media sites in a queue and then automatically post them at times that you choose. It works with Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+ and Pinterest. You can actually schedule posts for several days, across multiple platforms, all at once, freeing you to do other things.

You can sign up easily with your social account, and connect one account from each platform, up to four total accounts. Each account gets it’s own separate queue of 10 posts. When choosing content to share, you can post to all of your accounts, or pick and choose where each post will go. They’ve even got a browser extension to allow you to quickly share any interesting content you find while browsing.

A very nice bonus to Buffer’s system is that you can choose how many time per day you want to post to each of your accounts and the system will analyze traffic and tell you what are the best times to reach the largest portion of your audience.

Curate Content From Others

Curating content simply means gathering and using content from outside sources. Now this doesn’t mean stealing or copying content from other sites, it’s more about sharing other people’s work and incorporating it into your own marketing efforts by adding some value. You can see an example of using curated content on my site, successfulstartup101.com. In this article we highlight some great information coming from Gary Vaynerchuck that would be useful to our audience.

Curating content helps to add a bit more variety to what your audience sees, but also shows them that you are keeping up to date with what is going on outside of your company. It helps establish you as an authority and active player within your industry. In short, it helps build trust, which is essential.

Sniply And Start-A-Fire

Sniply and Start-A-Fire are two variants on a traditional URL shortener. These kinds of tools are essential on Twitter, where space is very limited, but also useful on Facebook and other social platforms. These two, in particular, are extremely useful for sharing curated content.

What makes these two URL shorteners special is that in addition to cutting down the number of characters in the URL, they will allow you to add a bit of your own content to outside sites when you share their links.

Sniply lets you create a call to action that will be displayed on the lower left corner of any website. Whenever someone clicks one of your Sniply links they will see the web page you’ve shared with your custom call to action along the bottom of their browser. You can use it to pull a bit more traffic back to your own site, or any site you choose.

Start-A-Fire works in a similar way, but instead of using a call to action, you can store multiple links to your own content, like blog posts for example. When someone goes to your Start-A-Fire link they will get a small popup in the bottom right corner of their browser with one or two links to your content.

Both provide analytics to let you test different ideas and see how things are going overall. They’re definitely worth experimenting with if you share a lot of outside content.

Put Them All Together

Using these three things together can save you mountains of time with keeping your social profiles active. It is literally possible to set up a week or more worth of social media posts in just an hour or two. By automating the content sharing portion of the work, you’ll be free to concentrate more on real interaction with your audience, or do something else completely.

Good Things Come in Small Packages: Why Postcards Should Be Your Next Marketing Investment – Tabitha Jean Naylor

As a hardworking business owner, you have to constantly be on the prowl to find new and effective ways to market your products and services in the most cost-efficient manner possible.  It’s all tall order, we know, but also a necessary evil.  If you’re like most business owners, you’ve tried Internet marketing techniques but just can’t seem to fine-tune things enough to make it worth your time, nor the financial investment.

notes

If you’re sick and tired of being fed-up with the results of your marketing campaigns, and are interested in a strategy that’s been PROVEN to work for decade after decade, look no further than postcards.

Here’s why…

Postcards are non-invasive, creative and attention-grabbing.  And they work just as well for large corporations as they do for small mom-and-pop shops. An eye-popping design, coupled with a compelling call to action and a good mailing list is all it takes to be well on your way to marketing bliss.

The Numbers Don’t Lie

Now we know you might be thinking caveat emptor, and if you are, we completely understand.  After all, you’ve probably heard about the latest and greatest marketing techniques promising you pie-in-the-sky results that deliver a big fat ZERO once put into place.  So, let’s put your fears to bed once and for all:

  • Direct mail is a heavily used marketing channel for local businesses, and accounts for a 43% market share of total local retail advertising
  • 56% of customers find print marketing to be the most trustworthy type of marketing
  • 59% of U.S. respondents and 65% of Canadian respondents admit that they “enjoy getting postal mail from brands about new products”
  • 40% of consumers try new businesses after receiving direct mail

The TRUE Benefits of Postcard Marketing

Among many things, postcards:

  • Generate leads and sales by introducing a new product or service that you offer
  • Introduce your brand to a potential new customer
  • Allow you to promote special coupons, offers and discounts
  • Drive traffic to your business’ website and/or social media profiles

Lastly, postcards are an inexpensive way for you to keep in touch with existing customers, which earns their loyalty and reduces the chances of them going to your competitor.

Cost vs. Investment

It’s important to think of any marketing strategy as an investment for your business, and not just an additional operating cost.  After all, effective marketing campaigns generate leads and sales, which is the lifeblood of any business.

If you’re having a tough time justifying WHY postcard marketing is a strategic business investment, here’s some food for thought:

  • Postcards are cost-effective. The cost per lead for postcards is far less than telemarketing and print advertisements.
  • People pay more attention to postcards. 44% of direct mail is never opened, so postcards have the advantage.  Why?  Because your message WILL be seen by the recipient.
  • Postcards are personal. Personalized print media – like postcards – is more powerful than e-mail. Customers appreciate it more because they recognize that it takes more effort to customize a postcard than an email marketing send out.
  • You can economizeon the design and printing of postcards so that you don’t have to be scared of making the investment. You can use elegant or quirky layouts with colorful graphics or simple and minimalistic designs. The beauty of having postcards made is the variety of options you have.

Many small business owners are under the false impression that in order to launch a successful postcard marketing campaign, thousands of dollars must initially be invested.  This assumption is 100% false, however.  Companies like Prospects Plus understand that cash flow can be tight at times and that investing $5,000 into a postcard marketing campaign simply isn’t feasible.  Our campaigns can be fine-tuned to meet your marketing needs, regardless of the size of your mailing list or your budget.

Give us a shout today to learn more – and most important, to get started.  Why put off until tomorrow what you can easily accomplish today?
